About this website

Keeping It Legal E Ai Ki Te Ture now consists of two major sections: Legal Responsibilities and Legal Updates.

The Legal Responsibilities section has been designed as a starting point for people in voluntary and not-for-profit organisations who want to know about the laws that may affect them. It can be used as a tool in developing risk management strategies. This divided into three further sections, as follows:

  • The Check section contains checklists of questions you can use to help you identify the information you need to know.
  • In the Learn more section, you can find information about requirements and responsibilities, divided into eighteen topics. There is also a printable fact sheet you can download for each one of these topics. This diagram shows the scope of content in this section, and how the law affects your organisation (just click it to enlarge it):

  • The Take action section allows you to create Action Plans, which record the tasks that need to be done, who needs to do them, and by when.

All updates to the content in this section of the site are recorded on this page: Index of updates

The Legal Updates section deals solely with changes to the law under action.  There’s a table summarising the stage and progress of sector-related legislation through Parliament, plus commentary and news about legislation in the pipeline.
